What cookies do
Cookies are small pieces of information your browser stores for a website. The study portal needs a session to connect successive page requests and maintain a login. The login page also contains a built-in cookies notice.
Session cookie
The built-in notice identifies the essential session cookie, usually MoodleSession. It maintains the session and login. The notice describes its removal on logout or closing the browser. Explicitly log out on shared devices, as some browsers restore sessions. Blocking the essential cookie can prevent reliable login.
Remembering a username
The built-in notice also describes an optional cookie for remembering a username, usually MOODLEID or similar. Where this feature is offered, you may decline it and enter your username yourself. The general notice is not a complete technical inventory of cookies actually set.
Your settings and external links
You can inspect and delete stored website data in your browser settings. Doing so may remove your session and preferences. Links to the Order, Federation and Katolikos lead to separate websites with their own privacy information. Opening a link differs from embedding an external service in this page.
Review before sign-off
Final technical checks of cookie names, lifetimes, other browser storage and any features requiring consent remain outstanding. This notice does not by itself authorise non-essential features. This initial version will be updated after those checks.
